Casablanca signed them after Gene Simmons of "Kiss" saw them perform. They were voted the best new band in 1976 by Circus magazine. Over the years, the band toured the world with such 70s hard rock legends as, Humble Pie and Mahogany Rush. In 1980 they recorded "20th Century Foxes" and "Virginia" for the movie "Foxes".

After Angel folded in 1981, Gregg Giuffria went on to form the band Giuffria until 1987 and then the House of Lords, which continued on until 1993. Felix Robinson played on the White Lion debut album, "Fight to Survive". Frank DiMino went on to work with many artists, writting and singing. He currently mentors young singers and musicians and sings in his classic rock band, Vinyl Tattoo. Punky Meadows (Edwin Lionel Meadows) retired from the music business and ran a tanning salon. In 2015 he announced that he will be releasing a solo album. Mickey Jones formed the band Empire, in which he handled lead vocals. Over the years, Mickie became interested in film production and later worked in the film industry. He died in 2009 of cancer.

Angel reformed in the late 90s with Richard Marcello on guitar, Randy Gregg on bass and Gordon G. G. Gerbert on keyboards. The band's 1999 release "In the Beginning" has guest appearances by Punky Meadows and Felix Robinson. Gordon G. G. Gerbert left the band in 2002.
